The COVID-19 pandemic has seen a near-total shutdown of all international travel over the past eighteen months. Moreover, the countries worst affected have suspended domestic journeys as well.
As a result, the travel retail sector has all but disappeared in this time and few brands have felt this loss as keenly as those in the beauty and cosmetics industry.
Fortunately, it seems that we may be through the worst of the outbreak and the end is now in sight. Opinions vary on when travel is likely to return to pre-COVID levels but the International Air Transport Association has forecast 2023 as a likely timeline.
